Anker's latest dock allows the user to connect external monitors via both Thunderbolt 3 and HDMI ports at 60 hertz (Hz). It also has a range of other I/O besides, an SD card reader and a 3.5mm AUX port included. One of its type C ports also allows pass-through charging at up to 85 watts (W).

Anker has announced its take on the (ideally) high-powered dock. This new PowerExpand Elite may allow a user with a compatible laptop to connect to multiple external monitors while charging at up to 85W. This is done through 1 of the device's Thunderbolt 3 ports, which also of course enables data-tranfer speeds of up to 40 gigabits per second (Gb/s).

The PowerExpand Elite also features 15W Thunderbolt 3 and 4K-compatible HDMI 2.0 ports, which may deliver dual 60Hz-monitor driving. There is also 1 more 18W type C 10Gb/s port, as well as 3 type As with 5 to 10Gb/s speeds. Therefore, the dock could be used for as many as 3 external displays, although not all of them would have the same refresh rate.

The new dock also exhibits a Gigabit Ethernet port, a combination 3.5mm jack and both microSD and SD (4.0 UHS-II) card slots, as well as a DC port for the accessory's 180W power supply unit. They are housed in a metallic unibody with grille accents. All this does not come cheap, though: Anker has set the PowerExpand Elite at US$299.99 on Amazon.
