CES 2024 | ThinkBook 16p G5 features Raptor Refresh HX CPUs & GeForce RTX 4060

Lenovo is overhauling its entire ThinkBook portfolio at CES. One of the new laptops is the Lenovo ThinkBook 16p Gen 5, the most powerful ThinkBook aimed at content-creators and powerusers.

For the 2024 version of this powerhouse laptop, Lenovo is changing up a few things. For starters, Lenovo is replacing the Raptor Lake H45 chips of the previous version with the new, more beefy Raptor Refresh HX55 CPUs. Not changed is the GPU, as the new model will be available with the same Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 that was optional in the Lenovo ThinkBook 16p Gen 4 (available from Amazon for $1,483).

Like the previous version, the new ThinkBook 16p G5 features plenty of ports with staples like HDMI, an SD card reader and USB A, making it a potentially great choice for creators. Since ThinkBooks are meant for small and medium sized business customers, Lenovo puts extra emphasis on the camera, as the new model has the same Magic Bay Expansion system as the previous model. The new Magic Bay Studio accessory combines a 4K camera with additional speakers for a great video conferencing experience.

The ThinkBook 16p features a high-end 3.2K IPS screen with 100 percent DCI-P3, 430 cd/m² brightness and a refresh rate of 165 Hz. It is backed up by a 80 Wh battery in a chassis that weighs 2.2 kg. The ThinkBook 16p is available with up to 64 GB LPDDR5X RAM and two M.2 2280 SSD slots for up to 4 TB of SSD storage.

The Lenovo ThinkBook 16p G5 will be available in the first quarter of 2024. US pricing starts at $1,600.
