Samsung Galaxy Watch5 series configuration options and special edition models leak
Samsung is continuing to prepare its systems for the arrival of the Galaxy Watch5 and Galaxy Watch5 Pro, its second generation of smartwatches since transitioning from Tizen to Wear OS. As we discussed previously, Samsung has already added the Galaxy Watch5 series in the Galaxy Wearable app, which all Samsung wearables use to communicate with a paired smartphone. Incidentally, Samsung also added the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, European and US prices of which leaked last month too.
Now, it turns out that Samsung has populated its insurance database with Galaxy Watch5 series models. Discovered u/AlexQuakeZ on Reddit, Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy Watch5 will be available in 40 mm and 44 mm sizes, mirroring its predecessor. Also, the insurance database clarifies that Samsung will sell the 40 mm model in Gold, Graphite and Silver colour options, with Graphite and Silver headed to the 44 mm variant as well. For some reason, Samsung will offer the 44 mm variant in Blue rather than Gold.
Incidentally, the Galaxy Watch5 should come in Bora Purple too, although it is unclear in which sizing. As expected, the Galaxy Watch5 will arrive with LTE and Wi-Fi-only models, as will the Galaxy Watch5 Pro. However, there will only be a 'Golf' version of the Galaxy Watch5, listed in 40 mm and 44 mm sizes. For reference, Samsung sells multiple Golf versions of the Galaxy Watch4. As for the Galaxy Watch5 Pro, Samsung's insurance website reports that it will ship as a 45 mm smartwatch, not a 44 mm one. Based on the same website, Samsung only plans to sell the Galaxy Watch5 Pro in Black and Titanium colour options, both of which have leaked previously.
