In recent months, rumours about Samsung's summer mobile releases have centred on the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7. However, details about the company's next flagship tablets are now starting to emerge, just as its rivals are releasing alternatives. For context, Vivo has just unveiled the Pad5 and Pad5 Pro in China. Meanwhile, OnePlus is preparing to unleash the Pad 3 globally with the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset found in its OnePlus 13 smartphone (curr. $949 on Amazon).
Last month, Android Authority alleged that Samsung would not be replacing the Galaxy Tab S10 Plus with a direct successor. Instead, the website claimed to have learned that Samsung was working to revive its smaller flagship option, which it is developing under the codename 'GTS11'.
According to GalaxyClub, this variant will feature an 8,160 mAh rated battery capacity, which is the same as the equivalent found in the Galaxy Tab S9 that Samsung advertises on the basis of its 8,400 mAh typical capacity. Therefore, it seems likely the Galaxy Tab S11 will be joining the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra this summer rather than the Galaxy Tab S11 Plus.
By contrast, GalaxyClub reports that the battery inside this year's Ultra tablet will grow by around 4.5% and 500 mAh. A rated capacity increase from 10,880 mAh to 11,374 mAh, this should translate to a circa 11,700 mAh typical capacity in retail units. As GalaxyClub emphasises, this battery increase for the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra would be the first since the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. Other details about Samsung's next high-end tablets will likely emerge towards the end of next month.
