Samsung Galaxy S24: Base variant could launch with 12 GB RAM in some regions
The vanilla Galaxy S24, much like its predecessors ($470 on Amazon), offers little in the way of meaningful generation-over-generation upgrades. Multiple leaks and benchmark listings have confirmed the tiny flagship will max out at just 8 GB of RAM. However, prolific leaker Ice Universe has heard otherwise.
The tipster insists that it is "very possible" the Galaxy S24 could launch with 12 GB of RAM in "some regions". Exactly what aforesaid regions are remains a mystery. It wouldn't be far-fetched to assume them to be the United States and China, as they'll receive the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy variant. South Korea, Samsung's home market, could also be a likely candidate.
While the Galaxy S24 variant with 12 GB RAM is a welcome addition, one can't help but wonder why Samsung didn't up the memory across the board, especially on the Galaxy S24 Ultra, which also maxes out at 12 GB of memory. Their supposed AI chops will require copious amounts of memory to be performed on-device. Otherwise, it'll have to offload it to the cloud.
