Redmi 13C launch as India's latest ~$100 Android smartphone imminent
Redmi has revealed that the 13C is finally coming to India as the market's latest "50MP AI" Android smartphone. The main rear shooter is part of the device's "Starshine Design", which translates to a dual rear camera version of the Xiaomi 13-series look.
The Indian version of the 3.5mm jack-enabled 13C should be a 4G/LTE-only smartphone powered by the MediaTek Helio G85, according to a new Geekbench leak involving the model number Xiaomi 2310FPCA4I. This alleged variant of the original 13C identifier is now linked to a combination the G85 (or "ARM MT6769V/CZ", according to the benchmark), an OS based on Android 13 and 8GB of RAM.
Redmi may have inadvertently corroborated most of those details, particularly by hyping the 13C as an "up to 16GB and 256GB storage" device, thereby hinting that it in fact has 8GB out of the box that can be extended using said internal memory. Its SoC will also drive a "large" 90Hz display - protected with Gorilla Glass, which, or so the OEM intimates, is rare for a device in its price-bracket.
On that note, Redmi claims that it will let 13C units go for as little as 7,999 INR - in conjunction with its upcoming "bank deals", that is. Their details will be revealed in full, as will the 13C itself, on December 12, 2023 - with a 13C 5G release up next, apparently.
