RedMagic has unleashed a combination of forward-looking AMOLED display technology, cutting-edge internals and a disproportionate amount of battery in the form of the 8 Pro (Global Edition). It also stands out due to its "sci-fi-inspired" design, with an exposed, active and RGB-lit fan in its higher-end Void SKU. The international market's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship smartphone will start at under US$700 on its release.

RedMagic touts its new 8 Pro (Global Edition) as a "futuristic masterpiece" thanks to the "evolved" take on its brand's flagship gaming smartphone design for early 2023. Saying that, its rear panel is still plastered with legends pointing to its most competitive specs and features in its brand's best 'transparent-chic' tradition.

They are more toned-down in the new performance-focused flagship smartphone's Matte colorway, which somewhat resembles a cross between the iPhone 14 Pro Max and the latest Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, except that the milled-out triple rear cameras are in the mid-line.

Then again, that leaves the Void alternative as the only one with the latest generation of RedMagic's active spinning fan, visible and LED-lit through its glass back.

On that note, RedMagic's very clear priorities when making a handset usually leave camera performance in the dust; however, with the ISOCELL GN5 as a main sensor, the 8 Pro might have a shot at doing better in 2023.

Nevertheless, it is also equipped with its OEM's latest "multi-dimensional" ICE 11.0 cooling system for its main internals, which comprise the "fastest chip ever" (the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, of course), new UFS 4.0 flash storage and LPDDR5X RAM.

They drive 6.8 diagonal inches of 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED "notchless brilliance", with a max brightness rating of 1,300 nits and 520Hz capacative shoulder buttons to further enhance gaming on the new 8 Pro. Allegedly "amplified" speaker technology enhanced by Snapdragon Sound might also help with that.

RedMagic estimates that the Android 13-powered 8 Pro's new UDC display might stay on for up to 47 hours in some conditions thanks to its 6,000mAh battery. The brand's 80W and 165W charging technology remains exclusive to the Chinese market for yet another year, however.

Then again, RedMagic is throwing a free 65W GaN charger in with each purchase of a new 8 Pro. It starts at a striking US$649/€649 for a Matte base model with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, or US$799/€799 from February 2, 2022.

Then again, the OEM's online store invites sign-ups for potential "early-bird" discounts that apparently start from January 28, 2022.
