The Realme RMX2202 is a phone said to be the brand's 2021 flagship smartphone powered by the Snapdragon 888 processor. Therefore, it might prove a mighty rival for Xiaomi's freshly-launched Mi 11. It has popped up on a database run by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), suggesting it will launch soon.

Update: The leaker Mukul Sharma (or @stufflistings) claims that the upcoming Realme flagship recently cleared by TENAA (as below) has been trademarked so as to launch as the GT in India.

Xiaomi has just unleashed its Snapdragon 888-powered, 55W charging and 120Hz/QHD+ Mi 11 on the global market; however, there are signs that Realme is coming to take its thunder with a phone based on the same platform. It is said to have 125W fast charging, as well as a refresh rate that could go up to 160Hz for its own QHD+ display.

This potential upcoming Realme flagship has also accumulated an unusual collection of names over the last few months, the most prominent of which is Race. However, there is also Koi, not to mention its alleged model number, RMX2202. The latter has just appeared on the MIIT website, suggesting that it has finally been approved for sale and will thus make its debut soon.

The new apparent certification affirms that it is a dual-mode 5G device, although it does also of course support 4G/LTE, CDMA and GSM bands. It also contains pictures from TENAA's regulatory system, which show a new version of the "Race" beside those from earlier leaks.

This RMX2202 has been photographed with a shiny rear panel in blue, which might be disappointing for those enamoured with the less standard (and glossy) finish hinted at in an earlier render. Then again, this ostensibly official rear panel has an interesting detail: new, additional "GT" branding set into one corner.

This, then, might be another hint at a possible Pro-variant of the Realme "Race": it could be that specs such as 125W charging are reserved for this "GT Edition". On that note, the same phone has also been allegedly snapped in a completely different colorway, with the healthy dollop of Realme branding previously seen in the X7 series to boot.

Both of those leaks show the same triple rear camera arrangement, although they could admittedly be clearer in TENAA's images (frustratingly, this authority has yet to confirm the new Realme phone in full to date). Therefore, all that can be said for sure is that Realme has had a new phone called the RMX2202 all but cleared for launch. Hopefully, it is the Mi 11 rival we have been waiting for.
