PowerA MOGA XP-Ultra launches as the first "official" Xbox wireless controller
PowerA touts its new MOGA XP-Ultra as the "premier multi-platform wireless controller", and not just because it is billed as an inaugural Xbox-licensed (and, thus, also fully Windows 10 or 11 PC-compatible) accessory. It has a "4-in-1 Modular Design", which means it consists of a "mini-pad" with all of its front-facing controls that fits into a "full-sized" grip.
The mini-pad is also compatible with a MOGA Gaming Clip that fits a mobile device such as an Android smartphone in it, and can use it with or without the grip attachment. It also integrates a 2,000mAh battery rated for up to 60 hours of game-time per charge.
Accordingly, PowerA envisions that a user can take the MOGA XP-Ultra with them anywhere to game (via a cloud if necessary) on the go. Then again, it is only "officially supported or validated by Xbox" in wireless mode; therefore, physically connecting its USB type-C port to a Series X, S or One still "requires switching compatibility mode".
Nevertheless, the XP-Ultra is rated for superior control and immersion via rumble motors in both the mini-pad and Clip and "premium" inputs that include dual mappable buttons to the rear for "advanced" convenience and customization options.
The MOGA XP-Ultra is now available on Amazon for US$129.99.
