Rumor | Potential Xiaomi Redmi K40 smartphone spotted in 3C certification - coming with 33 W fast charge and possibly a Dimensity 1000+ SoC and 144 Hz display
3C certification (Compulsory Certification of China) for a Redmi M2006J10C has been spotted that has revealed the power specifications for the device. As discovered by MyDrivers, the potential Xiaomi Redmi K40 smartphone has 33 W fast-charge technology (“DC11.0 V/3.0 A Max” – as stated on the document). The Redmi K30 Pro came with the same charger, and this certified charging value is higher than that of the 27 W fast-charging technology for the regular Redmi K30 (4G) and the 30 W power made available to the Redmi K30 (5G).
Therefore, it seems logical at this point to speculate that a future Redmi phone with the same 33 W charger as the Redmi K30 Pro could end up being a Redmi K40. Considering the spectacular success of the Redmi K30 series, parent company Xiaomi will be desirous of keeping up the momentum by releasing a successor that features similar but updated enticing specifications.
One of those potential enticing specifications is based on the rumor that the Xiaomi Redmi K40 smartphone might also be fitted with a display capable of a high 144 Hz refresh rate. Considering these details, it's possible the recently leaked Redmi "Karna" 5G smartphone, which is expected to be announced in July, may actually be a member of the future Redmi K40 series.
It’s also believed that the Redmi K40 could come with a powerful MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chip. The MediaTek Dimensity range has been providing smartphone OEMs with a new option for their budget and midrange smartphone offerings, and it could be that Redmi will be the next company to offer Dimensity-powered phones. The Dimensity 1000+ features 4x Cortex-A77 cores and 4x Cortex-A55 cores along with a Mali-G77 MP9 GPU. The new SoC from MediaTek has already appeared in the Z1 smartphone from iQOO.
