Oppo executive Zhou Yibao has shared new insights about the Find X9 series, having discounted a rumoured design for the company's flagships earlier this week. This time, the executive has teased that Oppo will introduce significant battery capacity upgrades without needing to make its next flagships much thicker than the existing Find X8 and Find X8 Pro.
For context, the Find X8 and Find X8 Pro already surpass their Apple and Samsung rivals like the iPhone 16 Pro and Galaxy S25 Plus (curr. $999 on Amazon) with significantly larger batteries. Specifically, Oppo uses silicon carbon technology to equip the Find X8 with a 5,630 mAh battery sat within a 7.9 mm thick housing. Meanwhile, the Find X8 Pro is a hair thicker at 8.2 mm with a 5,910 mAh battery capacity.
According to Zhou Yibao, the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro are only marginally thicker than their predecessors at 7.99 mm and 8.25 mm, respectively. However, Oppo has managed to include a battery that exceeds 6,630 mAh in the Find X9 and one that likely nears 7,500 mAh in the Find X9 Pro. Currently, Oppo is expected to deliver the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro this autumn, around the time that MediaTek unveils its Dimensity 9500 chipset.
