OnePlus Z slated for a July 10th launch in India; will allegedly retail at $330
Although OnePlus is yet to acknowledge the OnePlus Z officially, there is ample evidence that confirms the device's existence. Initially slated for a release alongside the OnePlus 8 series, the OnePlus Z's release date got pushed back. The phone was tipped to come with mid-range specs and a ~$500 price tag. However, it could be even lower than that, according to a new report.
An eagle-eyed user stumbled upon a survey (via XDA Developers) that detailed the specifications of a mystery OnePlus phone retailing at INR 24,990 ($330.) It's been years since OnePlus sold a phone for that price, so the device in question has to be the OnePlus Z by the process of elimination. The phone was initially supposed to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 1000 SoC, but OnePlus decided to switch things up and stick with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G instead. Some of the other listed specs include a 64MP+16MP+2MP triple-camera setup, a 4,300mAh battery chargeable at 30W, and a 6.55-inch FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED screen with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Although the hardware listed above looks like something we can see in a budget OnePlus device such as the OnePlus Z, we should take it with a grain of salt. It shouldn't be long before we get to know more about the phone, as a company insider told Android Central that the OnePlus Z would be unveiled in India on July 10th. There is no word about an international launch at this point, but OnePlus should tell us more in the coming weeks.
