OnePlus Open: New global flagship arrives as 'new benchmark for foldables'
OnePlus has now fully detailed the Open, its inaugural foldable smartphone. For reference, the OnePlus Open shares its hardware with the Find N3, which Oppo unveiled earlier today as well. Although Oppo describes the Find N3's launch as a global one, it appears that the OnePlus Open will have broader availability. Please see our corresponding article for more details about OnePlus Open and pricing.
According to OnePlus, the OnePlus Open is 'a new benchmark for foldables'. Allegedly, the handset redefines the 'concept of an apex smartphone' while challenging 'industry conventions and the status quo'. To that extent, the company has equipped the OnePlus Open with a pair of ProXDR displays and a new Sony LYTIA 'Pixel Stacked' camera sensor, an overview of which we have provided separately.
Like the Find N3, the OnePlus Open measures 153.4 x 143.1 x 5.8~5.9 mm when open and narrow to 153.4 x 73.3 x 11.7~11.9 mm when closed. Additionally, OnePlus' first foldable weighs 239 g in its Voyager Black finish but 245 g in Emerald Dusk. Please note that OnePlus will not sell the latter in Europe, leaving Voyager Black as the region's sole finish.
Moreover, the OnePlus Open is the first device to ship globally with Hasselblad cameras, which OnePlus backs with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a 4,805 mAh battery. Furthermore, the handset comes with 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.0 flash storage. The OnePlus Open is available to pre-order from today with various pre-order bonuses.
