Rumor | OnePlus Ace 2 Pro camera hump pops up on Weibo ahead of launch
OnePlus' "K-frame" camera hump design is back again on Weibo - however, this one is a new version belonging to the upcoming Ace 2 Pro, according to Digital Chat Station.
Its new alleged mug-shot hints strongly at a design recycled from that of the 11 - then again, the 4 individual circles within the main hump seem to have acquired raised silver rings in this new iteration, thus setting it apart from its immediate predecessors, that of the Ace 2 included.
On closer inspection, however, the camera housing's actual contents (3 variably-sized lenses and a flash) seem almost identical to those of the vanilla 2 (or 11R for the rest of the world). In addition, the 2 Pro lacks Hasselblad branding in this new shot, just like its vanilla sibling. On that note, the Alert Slider seems to have been left out of this shot, with something that might be an antenna cut-out in its place.
Nevertheless, Digital Chat Station, who claims to have seen this hump in real life during a factory tour, backs its "texture and details" to turn out much better "than the picture" in retail units, and also describes the Ace 2 Pro's new "titanium gray" colorway as somewhat like a "sports car".
Therefore, the upcoming OnePlus device - also tipped to launch internationally as the 12R - may be able to appeal to fans of refreshed premium smartphones on its debut after all.
