TheTechOutlook has revealed initial details about the successor to the Moto G53 5G, less than eight months after Motorola announced the mid-range smartphone. Unsurprisingly, its successor will arrive as the Moto G54, also with a 5G modem. Based on the images below, little has changed design-wise between the pair, with black, dark blue, green and light blue colourways shown so far.
For example, the Moto G54 still has a relatively thick bottom display bezel, as well as a rectangular-shaped camera module housing two lenses. Additionally, Motorola integrates a fingerprint scanner within the device's power button, rather than beneath the display itself. With that said, it appears that Motorola has made upgrades in other areas.

Above all, the company has finally switched from a 720p panel, with a 1080p equivalent offered this time around. However, the display still measures 6.5-inches across, as does the 120 Hz refresh rate that the Moto G53 5G offered. Meanwhile, Motorola pairs the 50 MP primary camera of older models with OIS, which should improve image quality thanks to superior stabilisation.
Moreover, Motorola has upgraded the front-facing camera from an 8 MP sensor to a 16 MP one; the 2 MP rear-facing auxiliary lens remains, though. While it is unclear what chipset will power the Moto G54, it will be available with 8 GB of RAM, 256 GB of storage and a 5,000 mAh battery. Unfortunately, neither pricing nor availability has surfaced yet either.
