The ever-reliable OnLeaks has shared details about the OnePlus 10T, a cheaper alternative to the OnePlus 10 Pro. To be released without Hasselblad branding or an alert slider, the OnePlus 10T is expected to feature a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and an AMOLED display with an LTPO 2.0 backplane for variable refresh rates.

@OnLeaks and SmartPrix have combined to deliver renders of the OnePlus 10T, the first T series smartphone from the company in two years. While OnePlus flirted with the idea of offering 'T Pro' smartphones in 2019 with the OnePlus 7T Pro, it returned to refreshing its cheaper flagship as of the OnePlus 8 series.

The OnePlus 10T will continue in that vein, albeit without a direct predecessor. As such, it seems that OnePlus will sell the smartphone as a cheaper alternative to the OnePlus 10 Pro, released in January. Unsurprisingly, OnePlus has undertaken some cost-saving to distinguish the OnePlus 10T from the OnePlus 10 Pro. The OnePlus 10T is rumoured to rely on the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 though, which should give it a performance bump over the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the OnePlus 10 Pro.

Specifically, @OnLeaks has highlighted that the OnePlus 10T lacks an alert slider, once a staple of OnePlus smartphones. Additionally, the OnePlus 10T has a flat-screen rather than a curved one. In saying that, @OnLeaks asserts that the OnePlus 10T will have an AMOLED display with an LTPO 2.0 backplane, allowing the device to vary its refresh rate to reduce power consumption. Conversely, the OnePlus 10T will have a plastic frame, a materials choice that OnePlus has previously kept to its cheaper Nord series.

Likewise, there are subtle changes from the OnePlus 10 Pro's camera housing and a repositioning of its LED flash. Purportedly, the OnePlus 10T will be available in black, as well as the green option shown in @OnLeaks' renders. Although a release date remains unknown at this stage, the device is anticipated to contain up to 12 GB of RAM, 256 GB of flash storage and a 4,800 mAh battery that it can recharge at up to 150 W.
