Intel introduces 2 new Low Voltage Core 2 Duo Models (L7400, L7200)

Both CPUs are already introduced Intel's website, but not yet on the price list.

Both CPUs demand only 17W, which is clearly less than the demand of the current  Core 2 Duo models. They work like the top models with a 667MHz frontside bus (FSB), have 4MB shared L2 Cache and have a clock rate of 1,33 GHz (L7200) or 1,5 GHz (L7400), respectively. According to the data sheet, they also have a hardware virtualization function.

During the second quarter the L7300 and L7500 Low Voltage (LV) should be available, which should provide 800 MHz FSB in Socket P (the new socket introduced by the "Santa Rosa" platform). Standard "Santa Rosa" Core 2 Duo processors with FSB 800 should be available in May.

More information regarding all Core 2 Duo processors and other  processors are available in our comparison of processors.
