Nokia unveils the Booklet 3G mini laptop
It has integrated 3G wireless and a hot-swappable SIM card
Nokia Booklet 3G mini laptop unveiled
Nokia, a name synonymous with cell phones, was for long planning to enter the netbook segment. There have been reports in the past pointing out the fact that Nokia is busy developing laptops. People have been eagerly waiting to have a glimpse of the Nokia netbook/laptop. It seems as if the wait is finally over as Nokia has just uncovered its brand new Nokia Booklet 3G mini laptop. Users can take a glimpse of what this device would look like courtesy a video posted on YouTube.
The Nokia Booklet 3G mini laptop will be powered by the efficient Intel Atom processor and will run on Windows operating system. The best part about this mini laptop is that it will offer users 12 hours of non-stop computing (as per company claims). It has a 10.1-inch HD display and also has an HDMI port to watch HD videos on an external HD source like an HDTV. The external shell is made out of Aluminum which makes this mini laptop really light, weighing just 1.25Kgs. This device is just 19mm or 2cm thick. The Booklet 3G has been equipped with 3G/HSPA ready for rapid mobile broadband anywhere-access on the move. Wi-Fi has also been wedged into its slim body. Moreover, it supports hot-swappable SIM card functionality. Other features include:
· Assisted GPS with OVI maps
· Webcam
· Bluetooth
· Built-in SD card reader
Nokia’s Executive Vice President for Devices, Kai Oistamo, said, “A growing number of people want the computing power of a PC with the full benefits of mobility. In doing so we will make the personal computer more social, more helpful and more personal.”
Full details of this device will be disclosed at the Nokia World 09 summit which will be held on 2nd September. Till then, users can enjoy the videos and photos of the upcoming Nokia Booklet 3G mini laptop.
