Genesi launches Efika MX netbook and the features are worth a look

Genesi USA has recently launched an ARM-based Efika MX netbook. Now folks, if you don’t want to wait for ARM-based netbooks from Toshiba or HP, then this can be good option to think about. The system has a 10.1-inch screen and armed with 800MHz Freescale i.MX515 ARM Cortex-A8 processor unit. The smartbook is not the fastest ARM-based chip available around but considered to be powerful enough to handle 720p HD video. The system has display of 1024 x 600 pixels resolution, 16GB of storage space, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 1.3 megapixel camera, SD card reader, microphone and headphone slots, and an optional 3G modem is available as well.

Efika MX has just 0.8-inches of thickness and weighs just about 2 pounds. It runs on Linux and priced just $349 dollars but if you can opt for Windows 7 netbook, then it will cost you $50 less. Efika MX will consume less than 12 watts of power. Interestingly, the configurations and specifications are quite good and need to watch its impact on the markets.
