The 17-inch laptop is aimed at the European market
Overview
The German company Wortmann AG, based in Huellhorst, Germany and founded in 1986 has allegedly introduced a new AMD-powered notebook. The Terra Mobile 1745 is now available to customers for purchase at Wortmann’s online shop.
Configuration
The “Made-in-Germany” notebook is equipped with a 17-inch WXGA+ Non Glare type display, which supports a maximum resolution of 1440-by-900 pixels. Furthermore, it features a single-core AMD Athlon64 TF-20 central processing unit with a clock frequency of 1.6GHz and 512KB cache.
The Terra Mobile 1745 sports an ATI Radeon X1200 graphics controller with shared video memory. In addition, it ships with 2GB of internal DDR2 memory (up to 4GB) and a 250GB rotating hard drive.
The base configuration also includes a dual-layer DVD Burner.
Connectivity
In terms of networking, the new Terra Mobile portable computer comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n module and an optional Bluetooth connectivity. Customers can also take advantage of the three USB 2.0 ports, HDMI interface, ExpressCard and 7-in-1 media card reader slots.
For video conferencing, there is an integrated 1.3MP web camera.
Other specs and Pricing
The Terra Mobile 1745 ships with a two-year warranty and FreeDOS. The company promises a weight (netto) of 3kg (6.61lbs) with the built-in 6-cell Lithium-ion battery.
According to the Wortmann’s web shop, the new 1745 will sell for €499 (£454/$684).
