We knew many hardware specifications of the Eee PC, but there also were some speculations. Asus presented its new Eee PC 900 officially in Taiwan and showed some interesting facts.

There are two different versions of the Eee PC, one uses Windows XP as operating system and a 12 GB hard disk, and the other one has a 20 GB hard disk and uses Linux.

Furthermore, Asus did not install Intel’s new Atom CPU, because it is not available so far. An Intel Celeron M processor with 900 MHz is included instead (most likely also underclocked). 1 GB RAM is built in and the new 8.9” display shows content with a resolution of 1.024 x 600 pixels which should be way better for surfing.

We do not know how much the new Eee PC will cost, but its price shall be between $ 500 and $ 650. There won’t be a difference between the price of the Windows and Linux version, because of the different hard disk sizes. The Eee PC 900 will be available in summer, but some optimists say it will be available in May.
