Pinetrail to support DDR3 soon

This could happen as soon as in Q3 2010

The rumor of Pinetrail to support DDR3 in near future has been brewing for quite some time now, and Netbooked reports that it could happen as soon as in Q3 this year. Fudzilla apparently even has the processor model name – N455 or N475. These should support DDR3 but apart from that will be similar to the first two Pineview – the N450 and the N470. The N455 should have a clock speed of 1.66GHz and a TDP of 5.5W whereas the N475 is expected to come with a clocking of 1.83GHz and 6.5W of TDP.

Intel brought out the first Pineview processor last month called N450 that has architecture to make the chip more energy-efficient. It has both the CPU and GPU inside the same die, which, even with a similar clock speed as that of the older N270/N280, is able to give better mobility.
