Low cost notebooks are not as popular as expected

Cheap notebooks are mostly used as secondary computers, because they are equipped with less powerful hardware according to IDC.

IDC’s market researchers report, that low cost notebooks are not as successful as expected. Students and children like those notebooks, but the hardware of such laptops is not very powerful.

It is necessary to have a second computer with powerful hardware for computationally intensive tasks. Therefore, those notebooks are not a box office success and do not appeal to customers.

Furthermore, the price difference between a low cost laptop and a normal notebook is not very much and customers prefer normal ones. Furthermore, users want to spend more money to get more powerful hardware.

The production costs of those notebooks are high and this fact reduces earnings. Therefore, it is not easy for manufacturers to make a profitable deal.
