HP presents new notebook series EliteBook
The manufacturer HP designed a new laptop series. This product line is the EliteBook series, which replaces business notebooks of the model number p.
The first EliteBook series notebook is the HP EliteBook 6930p, which is equipped with a hardened chassis and a magnesium lid.
The notebook display measures 14-inch and provides either a resolution of 1.280 x 800 or 1.440 x 900 pixels. The display with the lower resolution is equipped with a LED backlight. The EliteBook offers a normal 250 GB hard disk, and it is equipped with a multifunction bay.
It can carry a DVD-ROM, another 250 GB hard drive, a DVD-burner (with Lightscribe function) or a BluRay drive. The battery of the notebook provides 55 watt hours or 95 watt hours and the laptop reaches a battery runtime up to 8 hours.
We don’t know which processor will be installed, but we know it is going to be an Intel mobile series 8000 or series 9000 CPU. Either it will be used an integrated graphic chip, or an ATI Radeon HD 3650 graphics will be included. Furthermore, up to 8 GB RAM can be installed too.
A wireless adapter, which supports 802.11 a/b/g/draft-n, is part of the notebook and an optional HSDPA modem can be included. The 6930p provides some security features, like a TPM chip and a finger print reader too. Furthermore, there is a VGA-port, 3 x USB 2.0, gigabit LAN, Firewire, a 56k-Modem and an express card slot. Additionally, the notebook is protected against splash water and bears up against minus 29 degrees Celsius and plus 60 degrees Celsius.
The HP EliteBook 6930p will be available in September 2008, but no word about prices so far.
