Intel to come up with new and more advanced Core i7 for laptops

These will be based on the famous 32nm architecture
Intel is going ultrathin without losing the performance quotient! The Arrandale was the first step towards achieving this objective where Intel has concentrated on reducing the energy usage keeping the same performance by clubbing both the CPU and GPU inside the same die. Now slowly the American chip-making giant is moving the lather towards giving you more performance built upon an increasingly sleeker design. The result is the next edition of the Core i-series for portable computers – the Core i7 660UM. This processor will be based on the 32nm architecture and will be able to achieve up to 2.4GHz of clocking speed when overclocked – promises Intel. It will have a core speed of only 1.33GHz, however you get four threads now. This interesting built should reduce the energy consumption to just about 18W – as reported by Softpedia.
The Core i7 660UM will come with an undisclosed Intel graphics card that can shell out a speed of up to 800MHz under DDR3 memory. This processor will also come with a huge 4MB cache memory and looks to eventually replace the existing 640UM.
This new processor should be available by 3rd quarter of this year.
