AMD Puma platform in June
In time for the Intel Centrino 2 launch, AMD also wants to launch its new platform called Puma.
According to reghardware.co.uk AMD will announce its next generation mobile platform called Puma at the Computex, in Taipai on 3 June.
Puma consists out of the "Griffin" CPU (a mixture of the old Turion and the new K10 design) which is optimized on low power consumtion and probably won't be as fast asa current Core 2 Duo. The dual-core CPU will contain ati least 2MB of L2 cache (1MB per core) and will be able to clock each core independently (down to 300 MHz).
Another part of the "Puma" platform is the 780M chipsetz with integrated DirectX10 graphic core. Like the upcoming X4500HD it should be able to decode HD content and also show some entry level 3D performance.
