The battery replacement policy is in place for the iPad also
It’s Apple has long been criticized for un-replaceable batteries in its devices. The batteries on the Apple devices like the iPhones, macbooks and now the iPad are generally enclosed within the body and not possible to take out. Although this makes the phone totally secured from someone who would want to sell it with a fake battery, but it also present the difficulty of being able to use the product only till the time the battery lasts.
Looks like the iPad will have to go back to Apple for a replacement as well, like the iPhone. Apple extended a battery replacement policy for the recently launched iPad in lines of the policy in place earlier with iPhone. But unlike iPhone and macbooks,it is not going to replace the battery of the existing device, instead you’ll get a new iPad for $99 + about $6.95 shipping charge. Not bad if your battery dies a natural death, because that is when Apple is going to replace the device, and not in case of any accidents, water seeping in and other user negligence cases.
It also says the new iPad will be a brand-new one and will not contain the previous data. So it is important that you back it up to iTune.
