And you thought Pierre Cardin makes only men wear, well think again.....
Just walking around and having a look at new gadgets in market at the CeBIT 2010 show, i came across the Pierre Cardin stand. Well like most of you, i thought what does Pierre Cardin have to do with CeBIT, may be they are launching a new fashionable electronic device. I couldn't be more right lest they have unveiled a series of tablets ranging from 5-9 inches. I had my hands on the PC819 model with 8.9-inches multi-touch capacitive screen loaded with a stylus and running on VIA C7 M processor, meaning a very short battery life (at max 2.5 hours). This version and the other 7-inch version (E-729) have got 2 USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet RJ-45 connector, headphone/microphone jack, 3G slot, and Windows 7 Ultimate operating system.
I thought, Pierre Cardin could make only pen, belts, and perfume etc but they have tied up with a Taiwanese OEM to come out with these tablets. On the outside, the leather casing looks quite good and it has a great finish which certainly makes a style statement. The device has a rubber keyboard which is detachable and is pretty good to work on. There is also a 5-inch model available with no keyboard. The device comes in metallic black, grey, and shiny pink colors. Coming to the price of these devices, if you are willing to spend $450 (with Windows) and $300 (without Windows), this could be yours but I think you should have a power outlet at your disposal as you would have to charge this device every 2 hours or so if you intend to use it extensively.
