Intel Atom rumors: Next-gen Atoms might get DDR3 support

Intel Atom N45x and N47x with DDR3 support to be launched by mid 2010
A few days from now, in January, Intel will launch its Pine view Atom Platform. The processors that will be launched are the Intel Atom N450, D410, and D510 processors. According to sources, there are many more next generation Atom processors coming your way in the next year.
The processors that Intel plans to launch as soon as the calendar hits 2010 are Atom N450 processors which are clocked at 1.66 GHz. Next is the Atom N470 which will be launched in Feburary next year. It will come with a faster clock speed of 1.83 GHz and will carry $20 more on the price tag. The N470 right now has DDR2 memory controller but Intel plans to refresh the CPU with DDR3 support. After launching the N470, Intel also plans to release two new CPUs N45x and N47x (x is yet to be disclosed) that will feature DDR3 support. These processors might make their way to the market by mid 2010.
Another rumor making headlines is that Intel is planning to add DDR3 support to its desktop Atom processors which include the single core Intel Atom D410 and dual core Atom D510 but at launch these processors will only support DDR2 just like their laptop counterparts.
