ASUS the Taiwanese computer manufacturer has officially introduced the all new K Series Domino Collection Laptops which was earlier showcased during the CeBIT 2009 show in Germany. This laptop is designed for good multimedia performance in order to enhance the user’s multimedia experience. The computer boasts of multimedia capabilities thanks to the High Definition LCD display, SRS Premium Sound and Altec Lansing speakers.

The K Series Domino Collection notebook has a 14-inch LED backlighting, 16:9 high definition LCD display capable of producing vivid images at a resolution of 1366x768. This is further supported by the NVIDIA GeForce G102M graphics card which provides 512MB of dedicated Virtual RAM so as to accelerate HD video playback, video editing and casual gaming. All this coupled with the Altec Lansing speakers with SRS premium sound offer a true to life audio experience.

The ASUS K04IN is said to offer hours of unplugged entertainment as the company claims that this laptop can run for 6 hours on a single charge of its 6 cell battery. This is possible because of a host of features like the LED backlighting, the NVIDIA GeForce G102M graphics card which is said to consume 30% lesser power than other graphics card, and the ASUS Super Hybrid Engine (SHE) which features the Power4 Gear Hybrid application for efficient energy conservation. This technology optimizes both system performance and power efficiency according to the usage thereby resulting in lesser power consumption.

This new Notebook is designed on the NVIDIA MCP75L chipset and offers a choice of Intel Core 2 Duo, Pentium Dual-Core or Celeron processors with support of upto 4GB of DDR2 800MHz memory and a mammoth 320GB @ 5400rpm hard disk.  Other standard features include a 1.3MP webcam, Super Multi DVD optical drive, 3-in-1 card reader, integrated WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Gigabit Ethernet.

Another really cool feature of the K Series is its Ice Cool Design which keeps the palm rest cooler than the average human body temperature by upto 25%, thus delivering effective heat dissipation even after long hours of work all thanks to the well positioned vents and the clever designing. ASUS has also put an integrated Kensington lock in this beauty so as to provide for security.

Coming on to the size, this notebook measures 34.5 x 24.9 x 3.1~3.55 cm and weighs 2.36Kg. The K Series is slated to retail at around $ 1000 and would be available in Singapore by the end of this month.
