The Philips Hue app has gained a new Automation. The feature, which has yet to be officially announced by the brand, was spotted after a recent app update but was initially locked. The tool is now available for users, allowing them to set a schedule to automatically arm and disarm their smart home.

A new Automation is now available in the Philips Hue app. The tool was reported after update to version 5.33, but it could not be used at that time. Since then, the feature has been unlocked at least for iOS users, possibly with the rollout of version 5.33.1.

The Arming Schedule Automation can be used to automatically arm or disarm your Secure system at your chosen times. The tool can be found on the Automations page of the app, where it is reported as showing towards the bottom of the list. Upon selecting this option, customers are given the ability to select which days and times they wish their Secure products to automatically switch on or off. There is a maximum of eight time slots, you can customize each day of the week individually, and there is support for multiple schedules, which you could use to create a holiday mode.

Signify, the company that owns the Philips Hue brand, also recently announced other upcoming features for the Secure range, which includes products like the Battery Camera (currently $179.99 at Amazon). At some point this year, a new sound detection for smoke alarms will arrive. Plus, iOS users will gain a new widget allowing them to view the video livestream from their security camera. It is unclear when the Philips Hue app version 5.34 will arrive and whether it will bring any of these new tools.
