Casio's new MTG-B4000 series is now purchasable in Japan, with two models - MTG-B4000-1AJF and MTG-B4000B-1A2JF - that feature a newly developed carbon-metal hybrid frame co-designed using AI. The frame structure, which is a part of Casio’s evolving MT-G series, uses layered carbon fiber reinforced with stainless steel to maintain rigidity while reducing weight. Both models are priced at ¥165,000 (~$1,147) and ¥176,000 (~$1,224) respectively.
The design uses AI simulation to analyze impact resistance and refine the dual-core guard structure, bringing together shock-resistant elements with form modeling. A new approach to frame architecture also reduces shock transmission by isolating the band connection. The result is a compact, angular case (56.6 × 45.3 × 14.4 mm) that still delivers 20-bar water resistance and keeps the series' shock-resistant heritage.
Core features include Bluetooth connectivity, automatic radio time calibration (Multiband 6), Tough Solar charging, world time for 38 time zones, and a high-brightness LED light. Both watches also offer full calendar functionality, power saving mode, daily alarms, stopwatch, and app-linked auto time updates via the Casio Watches app.
The resin band and sapphire crystal round out a durable yet premium package, and the use of hairline and mirror finishes on the steel bezel gives each watch a polished, detailed look - which is to be expected because of the price.
