Tesla has officially unveiled the updated Model S and Model Y in the US. The internal and external upgrades, including new color and wheel options, come with a $5,000 price hike across all trims.

Tesla’s most expensive electric cars have finally received some love as the American EV maker officially unveils the upgraded Model S and Model X for its local market.

The Model S and Model X, Tesla’s second vehicle, became available in 2012 and 2015. The company has now updated the exterior with new color options, including Frost Blue Metallic and Diamond Black. Other external changes include new front and rear bumpers for the Model Y, as well as aerodynamic wheel designs that enhance the driving range.

Tesla has also made some upgrades to the suspension for less bumpy rides. The cabin has also received some attention to reduce noise, similar to the new Model 3 and Model Y. Another feature brought over from the Model Y is the front bumper camera, complete with a washer, and adaptive driving beams to boost visibility and safety.

Customers may also like the new dynamic ambient lightning that can animate on entering the cabin. The EV maker has also introduced more customizable LED footwell and door pocket lighting.

Still in the interior, the Model X now feels roomier. The optional third-row seats and cargo now have more space, to the delight of family-haulers. However, only the Plaid variants will get the yoke steering wheel as a $1,000 add-on.

Tesla did not forget to update the pricing, as each trim of the Model S and Model X is now $5,000 more expensive. The Model S Long Range starts at $84,990, while the Plaid costs $99,990. The Model X Long Range goes for $89,990, and the Plaid for $104,990.
