On October 14, Casio unveiled a new collaboration watch with hit movie "Back to the Future" - the CA-500WEBF. Adding to this list of collabs, the Japanese company has now revealed another brand new DW-6900 collaboration with SYNA, the clothing label founded by British rapper Central Cee. The release uses the familiar 6900 shape but switches to a dark burgundy finish - a colour SYNA links to old British passports. It will be available to buy in November.
There are two touches that set this model apart from regular DW-6900 model:
- the brand logo on the caseback
- a hidden logo that appears when the EL backlight is pressed
The DW-6900 has a long run in music circles. Pharrell Williams was often seen wearing one in the early 2000s, Eminem received his own Detroit-themed limited edition in 2013, and Snoop Dogg frequently wore gold-tone models during live shows. More recently, collaborations tied to artists and streetwear labels - including Daily Paper and KITH - have kept the 6900 in rotation with new audiences. That history does a good job of giving the SYNA release a familiar foundation: a watch already connected to the culture Central Cee comes from.
The collab lands after Central Cee became G-Shock’s European ambassador in 2024 and follows his recent sold-out world tour. He has said that the 6900 is the watch he actually wears day-to-day. This model sticks to the same DW-6900 features: a 44.7 mm resin case, 200-meter water resistance, a 1/100-second stopwatch, timer, alarms, and the usual shock protection.
While nothing really changes on the technical side, the uniform red finish gives the watch a cleaner, more considered look than many graphic-heavy collabs. The yellow-gold "G-Shock" text on the bezel and SYNA branding on the strap keeper are the only contrasting elements. As of writing, pricing info hasn't been disclosed, but we can expect it to vary regionally - if it launches outside the UK, that is.
