MSI MAG 321CUP presented as new curved gaming monitor with 4K and 160 Hz VA panel
MSI has expanded the MAG series with the MAG 321CUP. While the MAG 321CUP shares its 4K resolution and 160 Hz refresh rate with the also new MAG 322UPF, it does so with a different panel type. Specifically, the MAG 321CUP utilises a VA panel rather than the IPS equivalent that underpins the MAG 322UPF.
Thus, the MAG 321CUP has a superior contrast ratio than the MAG 322UPF but at the cost of response times and colour accuracy. According to MSI's product page, the former delivers a 3,000:1 contrast ratio but 1 ms MPRT response times and 91% DCI-P3 colour space coverage. Additionally, the MAG 321CUP peaks at 350 nits, is VESA DisplayHDR 400 certified and offers 10-bit colour depth (8-bit + FRC).
Moreover, the monitor integrates Adaptive-Sync dynamic refresh rate technology to minimise image tearing when using its DisplayPort 1.4a, HDMI 2.1 or USB Type-C ports. For reference, the latter supports DisplayPort Alt Mode but only 15 W Power Delivery (PD), rather than 90 W PD like the MAG 322UPF.
