Leaked Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro service manuals emerge with references to a Samsung Exynos 5123 modem
Thanks to yesterday's Carphone Warehouse leak, there are few secrets left about the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. An assembly video of the latter answered a few more questions about the device too, including its battery capacity.
Now, an assembly video of the Pixel 6 has leaked, as have service manuals for it and the Pixel 6 Pro. The service manuals are too large to embed them, but you can read them via the links below:
Please be aware that these service manuals are thorough and stretch to over 160 pages. Unsurprisingly, each one is over a 100 MB file. While that may sound slightly unwieldy to trawl through, they reveal a few tidbits about both devices.
For example, the service manual and assembly video confirm that the Pixel 6 has a 4,614 mAh battery, 389 mAh smaller than the one in the Pixel 6 Pro. Nonetheless, Google claims that both devices should easily last a day between charges.
Additionally, Nils Ahrensmeier has discovered an image relating to the Google Tensor SoC. As the image below shows, the Pixel 6 Pro reports that it has a 'g5123b' baseband when in Fastboot mode, the model number of Samsung's Exynos 5123 modem. For reference, Samsung equips its current flagship smartphones with the Exynos 5123 modem, underlining the degree to which it was involved in creating Google Tensor.
The Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro will debut on October 19. According to a leaked brochure, Google will offer a pair of Bose Headphones 700 with pre-orders between October 19 and October 27.
