Huawei’s Watch Ultimate smartwatch is receiving HarmonyOS 5.0 in a global update. The first wearable series to feature the latest version of HarmonyOS was the Watch GT 5, which launched in September. Now, firmware version 5.0.0.13(SP2C00M02) is bringing HarmonyOS 5.0 to the Watch Ultimate.
According to the change log shared by tipsters with HC Newsroom, the release refreshes the user interface. There is support for offline map downloads with navigation and positioning while outdoors, as well as for importing routes and associated navigation in Expedition mode. Users can now take screenshots, which are viewable on their smartphone. On top of this, there are extra watch faces and a new Golf app. Huawei states that it has improved screen transitions and alarm functionality. It has also optimized push notifications to make the source and total number received clearer.
Update 5.0.0.13 has been reported by Huawei Watch Ultimate users in France and Germany. It is unclear how many units of the smartwatch are now eligible to download the update via Huawei Health, or when the global rollout will be complete. The Huawei Watch Ultimate is currently available for $890 at Amazon.
