Huawei Watch Ultimate Design now available in Europe and UK with 18K gold design
Huawei has now started selling a new version of the Watch Ultimate, a few weeks after it presented the same watch as the Watch Ultimate Gold Edition. In the intervening period, the company has re-branded the Watch Ultimate Gold Edition as the Watch Ultimate Design, the second device to bear that moniker after the Mate 60 RS. Unlike the Mate 60 RS, which remains a Chinese exclusive, the Watch Ultimate Design is available to order in Europe and the UK, among other markets.
At launch, Huawei charges €2,999 for the Watch Ultimate Design in the Eurozone and £2,699 in the UK. In comparison, the regular Watch Ultimate starts at €749 in the Eurozone and £699 in the UK with a zirconium-based front case, a ceramic rear case and a rubber strap. According to Huawei, the Watch Ultimate Design adds an 18K gold and nanocrystal ceramic bezel, plus 18K gold and titanium alloy crown and buttons.
However, it appears that the Watch Ultimate Design retains the same zirconium-based front case and sapphire glass display. Nonetheless, the new smartwatch also has a titanium watch band that is partly gold-plated and dyed black. Additionally, Huawei includes a premium gift box, international warranty and a cleaning service that covers repairs too. The Watch Ultimate Design retains all the same hardware as the regular Watch Ultimate, including 10 ATM water resistance and a 1.5-inch LTPO AMOLED display.
