Honor's next generation of Android flagships have started to surface in a fresh leak that hints at one of the more vital of their specs. The new tip suggests that the Magic8 will charge slower via USB-C compared to its predecessor. It might be a trade-off worth making, though.
The first Honor smartphone to rock the upcoming flagship-grade Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC has appeared on China's official 3C database, according to a new report.
It asserts that the device has 2 variants (the BKQ-AN00 and BKQ-AN80), both of which are now approved to charge at 80W using a first-party Honor power brick, whereas the Magic7 series upgraded to 100W on its release.
Therefore, should this device really belong to the Magic8 series, it has experienced a generational compromise in its charging specs.
That might not matter all that much, as it is also rumored to launch as Honor's first ~7,000mAh flagship. The device might also be able to hang onto Honor's 80W wireless charging technology.
The Magic8 series is also thought to debut with the OEM's latest MagicOS 10 software based on Android 16 and upgraded cameras that might even extend to a wild dual 200MP set-up in its highest-end "Ultra" variant.
