The Honor Magic8 Pro is now projected to launch as a 2025 flagship Android smartphone that might in fact be a little smaller than its predecessor. It is thought to launch with a considerably larger battery nonetheless. The 8 Pro might also have a 200MP rear camera and look like an iPhone from the front - except that it might sport a high-end fingerprint reader.

Next-gen flagship Android smartphones are thought to fall into 3 basic display size categories from 2025: 'compact' (~6.3 inches in diagonal length); 'medium' (~6.59 inches) and 'full-sized' (~6.8 inches), all of which are thought to be represented in the upcoming Oppo Find X9 series.

Honor is rumored to buck all of those trends with the "Magic8 Max", a massive ~6.9-inch smartphone that might be joined by a Pro sibling. The latter is also thought to deviate from the norm with a custom panel measuring no more than 6.71 inches diagonally.

That display might still resemble that of the existing, 6.8-inch 7 Pro in that it might have a double-wide punch-hole, much like that of a newer iPhone. It is thought to house facial scanning technology that might go well with its similarly "3Dultrasonic fingerprint sensor.

The Magic8 Pro is also now backed to make a significant leap in terms of battery capacity, to 7,000mAh or possibly even more as opposed to 5,850mAh at most in its predecessor, while possibly retaining the class-leading 100W wired and 80W wireless charging technology of the 7 Pro (and RSR).

The 8 Pro might also still feature a 200MP periscope zoom lens in a large central camera hump, although it could be powered by the upgraded Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC from Qualcomm.

The Magic8 Pro is thought to debut in the third quarter of 2025, alongside a vanilla version that just might take the compact form-factor on instead.
