Honda SC e: new electric motorcycle with swappable batteries arriving in 2025
The Honda SC e: concept electric motorcycle is on show at EICMA, or the Milan Motorcycle Shows. The official world premiere of the model took place at the Japan Mobility 2023 show in October, with a production version of the EV now confirmed to arrive in the next year or so. Apparently, the “SC” relates to the fact that it is a scooter, with the “e:” noting it as an electric model.
Honda has yet to reveal many details of the motor in the SC e:, though it notes the EV is equivalent to a 125cc or Class 2 moped, so riders will need an A1 license. The model uses two MPP batteries, housed under the seat, providing around 100 km (~62 miles) range. The swappable power packs, weighing 10 kg (~22 lbs) each, are compatible with Honda’s mobile battery network, already operating in Japan and India. The company says it has worked to make your journey comfortable, reducing noise and vibration with the electric motor.
Other features of the SC e: include full LED lighting with blue lighting accents across the front panel, handlebars, floorboard and rear, and a larger central display. The Honda SC e: electric motorcycle is expected to arrive in Europe by 2025; further details, such as the price of the EV, remain unclear.
