GoPro app to be updated with improved editing features
GoPro has announced that it will refresh the companion app for its action-cameras. The updates will integrate Quik editing features directly into said app. This will enable the user to apply filters and convert footage into stories. This upgrade should also improve the GoPro app's UI in the future.
GoPro distributes 3 apps for iOS or Android: the app that connects to its action-cameras; Quik, a free video-editing app, and Passenger, which allows the user to see from the point of view of the nearest Karma drone, should there be one available. The company is now planning to upgrade the first of these with elements of the second.
This will involve a future app update that will add in more editing features. They include the ability to apply filters to the footage in question. GoPro users will also be able to turn their recordings into QuikStory compilations. The app will also be able to identify clips to suggest as contributions to the same.
GoPro QuikStories will also gain the ability to incorporate videos or images from elsewhere in a mobile device's storage. This update, which will be one in a series that slowly amalgamates the Quik or GoPro over time, will also overhaul the GoPro app's UI. This may make it easier to use and navigate.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
