With Samsung tipped to ditch the base Galaxy S26 entirely and replace it with a Galaxy S26 Pro, there are some expectations that it will bring some upgrades that make it eligible for the 'Pro' tag. If a report from Galaxyclub.nl is accurate, it might arrive in the form of a battery upgrade.
The Galaxy S26 Pro will apparently launch with a 4,300 mAh battery (rated capacity). While it is larger than what the regular Galaxy S25 offers (4,000 mAh battery), it is far behind the Galaxy S25+ (4,900 mAh). It would be ideal if this came with an increase in charging Wattage, but leaks suggest it is limited to the Ultra model only.
Similarly, the Galaxy S26 Edge will also get a bump in battery capacity. Instead of the 3,900 mAh cell found on the Galaxy S25 Edge, it will launch with a 4,200 mAh battery. Exactly how much that will improve battery life remains to be seen, but any upgrade is welcome, given the S26 Edge might be thinner than its last-gen counterpart.
Given they are still months away from launch, not much is known about the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge. One set of reports insists it will launch with Samsung's next-gen Exynos 2600 SoC, while another implies it will stick with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 for Galaxy.
