Although we are still roughly six months away from the arrival of the next Galaxy S lineup, a surprising amount of information has already surfaced about Samsung's upcoming flagship phones. Naturally, none of these details have been officially confirmed, so a healthy dose of scepticism is warranted. Last week, leaked model numbers spotted in the IMEI database delivered strong indications that the Galaxy S26 Edge could replace the Galaxy S26+. If accurate, this may signal Samsung's preference for sleekness over size – echoing Apple's direction with the iPhone 17 Air.
This new information, compiled by Roland Quandt on WinFuture, originates from international trade databases and reveals the codenames for Samsung’s upcoming flagship series: NPA1 for the Galaxy S26, NPA2 for the Galaxy S26 Edge (or possibly S26+), and NPA3 for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Quandt believes “NPA” likely stands for “Next Paradigm”, since their predecessors, codenamed PA1 to PA3, were referred to internally as “Paradigm”. According to the leaker, the follow-up to the first-gen Galaxy Ring is specifically called “Next Smart Ring” in the databases, lending more weight to the speculation.
The next Galaxy Ring is expected to launch in early 2026, alongside the Galaxy S26 series. Quandt also shared some specs for the three Galaxy flagships, reinforcing earlier rumours that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will feature a 200 MP main shooter, a 50 MP telephoto camera, and an ultrawide camera. No further details are available for the ultrawide camera and a potential second telephoto lens. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S26 Edge is tipped to receive a 50 MP ultrawide camera, an upgrade over the S25 Edge’s 12 MP lens, potentially offering a dual-camera setup with 200 MP and 50 MP sensors. For now, the compact base model Galaxy S26 remains the most mysterious of the trio.
