At first glance, the brand new Oppo Reno 14 Pro looks like a standard mid-range smartphone, as Oppo opts for a relatively underwhelming design with a flat display, flat frame and almost square camera module. The most striking feature is the back, which is available in vibrant purple, black or white with a wave pattern. Considering the price, however, the specs are interesting.
The IP69-certified and thus waterproof mid-range smartphone has four 50 MP cameras, including a 50 MP f/2.0 selfie camera, a 50 MP f/1.8 main camera with OIS, a 50 MP f/2.0 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 50 MP f/2.8 telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom. Both the main and front cameras can record 4K videos at 60 frames per second. Oppo also installs a 6.83-inch display with a resolution of 2,800 x 1,272, 120 Hz and a full-surface brightness of 1,200 nits as well as an integrated fingerprint sensor.
The battery has a capacity of 6,200 mAh and can be charged via USB-C with up to 80 watts. A MediaTek Dimensity 8450 is installed. The cheaper Oppo Reno 14 looks very similar to the Pro model, but is slightly more compact with a screen diagonal of 6.59 inches and a 6,000 mAh battery. The features of the two smartphones are largely identical, with the base model housing the older MediaTek Dimensity 8350 and a cheaper 8 MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera.
