The first signs of the POCO M5 and POCO M5s have surfaced, just a few months after the POCO M4 5G debuted. Reputedly, the POCO M5 and POCO M5s will arrive in August alongside the Xiaomi 12T series.

Xiaomiui and @stufflistings have discovered references to the POCO M5 series, which Xiaomi will release globally. For reference, Xiaomi has released POCO M4 devices in stages, starting in November 2021 with the POCO M4 Pro 5G. Subsequently, the company unveiled the POCO M4 Pro and the POCO M4 5G, which arrived in March and May 2022, respectively.

According to Xiaomiui, the POCO M5 series will debut in August, possibly during the same launch event as the Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro. While the Xiaomi 12T series is rumoured to feature high-end chipsets, Xiaomiui asserts that the POCO M5 will rely on a JLQ or a MediaTek Helio G80 series chipset.

In comparison, @stufflistings claims that the POCO M5s will be a rebranded Redmi Note 10S. In other words, the POCO M5s will utilise the MediaTek Helio G95, a more powerful alternative to those in the POCO M5. Separately, @stufflistings reports that the POCO M5s will be available with 4 GB of RAM or 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB or 128 GB of storage. Purportedly, both smartphones will launch with Android 12, likely based on MIUI 13.
