According to POCO's latest teaser, its next upcoming Android device might by powered by a new MediaTek Helio-series processor. Despite the affordable nature of the silicon, the brand also hints strongly at a finish often reserved for higher-end handsets. The resulting product might launch in India soon.

The next POCO M-series smartphone is thought to emerge as a Redmi re-brand - yet again. However, according to word direct from the brand itself, it just might be an original device after all.

POCO India's Twitter channel has released a poster with a stylized "G99", thereby possibly implying that it has a product powered by the  MediaTek Helio G99. This recently-released 4G/LTE-only SoC has only featured in 1 smartphone to date: the Infinix Note 12 Pro.

Therefore, it just might form the basis of a wholly POCO-designed device...for once. The smartphone (or, just maybe, tablet) is linked to the aforementioned series thanks to the poster's tagline, "'M bringing sexy back" (not to mention the cute little faux parental advisory in one corner), probably intended to refer to the device's rear panel, and that it could be covered with the texture seen in the image.

Therefore, it seems this POCO M variant will come with a novel leather or leather-like finish along with its new processor. Then again, the brand has yet to mention a launch date for this potentially interesting budget-tier product.
