Dell's Inspiron 15R is a fairly good value for those looking at getting a strong performing laptop with some extra hard drive space. For under $1000, it certainly has features that are equal to much of the competition. Be warned that the graphics are not Direct X 11 compatible even though it carries a naming similar to ATI's latest. Dell also doesn't offer the same level of customization that they did in the past laptops.

Priced at Rs. 52,800 (with a 1 year Complete Cover warranty) , it seems to be a tad bit overpriced. While a discrete GPU is available, it does not come as a standard which is a downer. The Inspiron 15R is a great laptop for those who like a clean, understated look while having enough power under the hood to do whatever they choose. In short, the Dell Inspiron 15R is a great all-round notebook and should be on your list, if you are looking for a new workhorse.

While Dell's Inspiron 15R isn't going to distinguish itself from the competition in terms of performance for an under $600 laptop, it certainly makes up for it with flexibility. Most companies tend to skimp on peripheral ports, but Dell gives both USB 3.0 and eSATA for those looking to expand their laptops storage.

There’s not much else, good or bad, to say about the Dell Inspiron 15R (I15RN-5882DBK). It’s not quite as adept an overall performer as the Editors’ Choice models, the Asus U56E-BBL6 or Lenovo IdeaPad V570-1066AJU, but it’s certainly never disappointing, either. If every last drop of processing potential matters to you, either of those machines would be a better way to go. But if you’re content with paying less, the I15RN-5882DBK won’t make you feel like you’re compromising too much.

With the 15R, Dell has put together a versatile 15.6in budget to midrange laptop that doesn’t compromise on connectivity. Relatively minor weaknesses with its keyboard aside, it holds up well overall, with the interchangeable lids being a great way to change the design according to your mood or to match the colour of your shoes (if you’re that way inclined). Unfortunately, at the moment its pricing doesn’t make it the most competitive option out there, and without other areas where it truly excels, it’s worth checking out alternatives.

With the last version of the Dell 15R, gaming was well-nigh impossible, but this version’s premium quality display and the Core i5 processor-Nvidia pairing make the Dell 15R a very impressive all-rounder whether for office or gaming use. Needless to say, any machine which can handle current games will have no problem running office software.

I like affordable notebooks, and while shiny like glass the Dell Inspiron 15R is a real contender. The keyboard doesn’t match the generally good build quality of the rest of the notebook, but at the end of the day it’s still a very reasonable option for a prospective notebook buyer on a budget.

While the Inspiron 15R (N5110) doesn't do all that well in gaming, its CPU is effective in terms of everyday usage. Dell's first major update to the Inspiron 15R has both good and bad aspects to it. For the most part, performance has been improved thanks to the new Intel Core 2011 processors. In addition, the graphics system is beneficial for those that do lots of video encoding work. On the downside, the 3D performance is not as strong as a dedicated graphics part and Dell has reduced the number of customization options beyond the lid even further.

When it comes to spending $500 on a laptop, beggars can't be choosers. One of the best things about the Inspiron 15R, Dell's 2011 update to its budget and midrange consumer laptop line, is that it starts at an aggressive price while still offering Intel's second-generation Core i-series processors. Dell's Inspiron 15R is an attractively priced budget consumer laptop with a welcome set of up-to-date features and design options, but beware of the cost of customizations.

The new and improved Inspiron 15R N5110 is an appealing 15.6-inch laptop for general use and multimedia tasks but also remains very budget friendly. The a base configuration priced at $499 might not be as impressive as the system we reviewed which is almost $400 more expensive, but even the less expensive model packs enough punch to more than satisfy the technology demands of a typical family. If you need a notebook with a little extra muscle then the Intel Core i5 processor and optional AMD Radeon 6470M graphics should handle all but the most graphically intense modern games. I would have liked to see a backlit keyboard option as well as higher resolution screen options such as 1920 x 1080 or 1600 x 900 ... but those are pretty minor complaints for a budget notebook.

It's hard to say great things about a laptop that is solidly mediocre. It's not the thinnest, prettiest, or most powerful 15.6-inch notebook around, but it still has a place in the market. 15.6: 15 inch display-variants are the standard and are used for more than the half of all notebooks. 15.4 inch display with 16:10 are the standard for notebook displays. However nowadays, more and more 16:9 displays with 15.6 inch appear. The reason why so many people like displays with medium size is, that this size is not exhausting for the eyes, does not need too much energy and the laptops can be kept quite compact.

2.36 kg:
This notebook is lighter than the average of all notebooks. It is too heavy for sub-notebooks. 14 inch displays are normal for this class of weight.
2.7 kg:
76.71%: This rating is not convincing. The laptop is evaluated below average, this is not really a recommendation for purchase.
