DJI has now released the Mic 3 globally after a short teaser campaign. As pre-release leaks suggested, the Mic 3 combines elements of the Mic 2 and Mic Mini (curr. $136 on Amazon). For example, the Mic 3 is 6 g heavier than the Mic Mini and 12 g lighter than the Mic 2 with its magnetic attachment.
Nonetheless, the Mic 3 supports 24-bit and 32-bit float dual file audio recordings, which it saves to its 32 GB of built-in storage. Not only does the Mic 3 feature four times as much storage as the Mic 2, but it also features automatic Adaptive Gain Control and Noise Cancelling. Moreover, the new wireless microphone boasts up to 28 hours of battery life, with 8 hours for its transmitter and 10 hours for its receiver between charges.
On top of that, the Mic 3 supports Timecode functionality and three voice tone presets, with compatibility also offered for up to four transmitters and eight receivers. The new wireless microphone retains the 1.1-inch touchscreen display and dial on its receiver from the Mic 2, too. The DJI Mic 3 starts at $329 with two transmitters, a receiver and a charging case included. Alternatively, a single transmitter and receiver can be picked up for $219.
