Backbone has introduced two Target-exclusive limited editions of the Backbone Pro and Backbone One. The special edition controllers retain the features and prices of the standard variants, but come in bright colors that honor the cozy gaming trend.

Earlier this year, Backbone announced the Backbone Pro as its most premium mobile controller. The controller, which works with Android and iOS, is available to buy in a single color — black. However, that is about to change as Backbone has announced a limited-edition color for the controller. The older and cheaper Backbone One has not been left out, as it is getting a new color, too.

The new limited edition Backbone controllers are not tied to a video game like the Backbone One Death Stranding edition, nor are they tied to a platform, as is the case with the Backbone One Xbox Edition. Instead, Backbone says the new colors are inspired by cozy gaming, which is the gaming trend of playing games that are designed for relaxation and to relieve stress. Some popular cozy game titles include Stardew Valley, Spiritfarer, Gris, and Sky.

In recognition of this gaming trend, Backbone has partnered with Target to launch two new limited-edition controllers. The first is the Backbone Pro - Pink Edition, while the other is the Backbone One - Purple Edition. Just as their names say, these controllers drop the boring black colors of their originals for more vibrant hues.

The Backbone Pro - Pink Edition features a pastel pink hue that covers the entire controller, except for the two thumbsticks and the Backbone button. Other than the new paint job, it's no different from the standard black version. It even maintains the $169.99 price tag of the standard version, which is available on Amazon. On the other hand, the Backbone One - Purple Edition has a pastel purple finish and is priced at $99.

Backbone says the new controllers will be exclusive to Target and will be available online on October 5 and in-store on October 6.
